Grammy-winning Stephen Lee Bruner, aka Thundercat, one of the biggest names in today’s music scene, arrives at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, October 27. And we are delighted.

I first heard of Thundercat when he brilliantly brought rock yacht gods Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald work with him on the soul “Show you the way.”

Technically in the “Progressive R&B” category, in the eyes of the Grammy committee, Bruner just won a gold gramophone in this category for his album It’s like that.

This is Bruner’s first time performing in the Bay Area, after a canceled show in Ybor City led to a CL staffer chasing him to Orlando in 2017.

Rapper and singer Channel Tres opens the Wednesday night show. Can we also hope for a small cameo from Michael McDonald? It seems to be happening at festivals a little.

Tickets to see Thundercat and Channel Tres at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg go on sale Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. and will cost you $25.
